Doughboy
The Monument of the Wolrd War I soldier is described on the Basin Springs Plaque displayed along the path of the ridge above the band shell -- reads this statement:  "Following World War I, the “Doughboy” statue was placed as a memorial to local men who served their country."
Any further information on the role of Basin Park as a venue for Patriotism is welcome.
The American Legion was contacted as a source, but they have no information on the Doughboy.
